THE LITTLE THINGS: One of the Mars Society's ongoing efforts is to technology development in support of human missions to Mars, specifically in those areas where NASA may not be looking at the moment. This is not a Mars Society development, but it is an example of the small technologies that often get overlooked when one talks about missions to Mars. Generally, the focus is on the big-ticket items, like rockets, habs and rovers -- but there are a lot of smaller, less-glamorous elements to such a venture which can have a large impact on its outcome.
