Experts from the University of Arizona announced this past week that they had discovered evidence of "flood volcanism" on Mars.

A volume of water a quarter again the size of Lake Erie? Sure, Erie is small by comparison to the other Great Lakes, but no matter how you look at it that's a good bit of water. That much water would be immensely useful to future colonies.

If we can now just figure out where it all went...
