A news website with which I am not at all familiar, MyTown.co.nz, has another op-ed in the Rod Liddle vein. While just as wrong-headed, the attempts at humor in this one aren't so irritating and trite. It reads almost as if Ms. Franklin rewrote Liddle's article with some local color and a bit more skill.

But what's up with the "moon hoax" references? Is she being serious there? Or was it just an elaborate (and evidently unsuccessful) setup for the bitchslap "jokes" about Iraq and WMD at the end?
