An interesting commentary on Columbia and the "why send humans?" question, in which those calling for the fedgov to redirect funds from manned spaceflight to "more worthy programs" is compared to a similar policy reversal in China's Ming period.

Sorry to have an off-topic comment, but the comments box on the "Missing Links" post isn't working. You can keep the archives--just build a redirect page to the appropriate URL for each one. I did this when I moved from Grey Matter to Moveable Type, so the old permalinks still work.

Assuming they're in order, you should be able to do this with a script (I wrote a little perl script to generate all the pages).

Funny...on editing the entry, I found that comments were toggled "Closed". No idea how that could have happened, while still keeping the Comment link active in the post.

Blogger vs. MT is beginning to feel like a hammer to the head vs. the death of a thousand cuts.
