One Down, Two To Go
Now that they've shown they can actually do it, it's time for a go at the X-Prize. This is great news. But I have to wonder about the strange time-distortion Mike Melvill appears to have experienced during the flight -- it seems to have aged him several years...at least according to Fox News' reporters, who were adding a year to his age every time they reported on the flight. How serious do you consider the damage sustained by the craft? Is it likely to be something that could have a bigger impact when going for the prize (e.g. - launching an extra two people, or their equivalent mass)? Posted by: Carl Carlsson at June 24, 2004 09:17 PM I really don't know anything about it beyond the fact that it happened -- been too busy this week to follow up. Hopefully I'll have broadband again sometime this week and can get back up to speed. Posted by: T.L. James at June 27, 2004 09:58 PM |
