Manx Robots
One of our new mechanisms engineers on Orion sent me a link to an interesting site covering his graduate work on small biologically-inspired robots, which use wheels resembling the Manx triskelion to mimic the motion of cockroaches: CMRU Biorobotics Lab. The video clips are delightfully bizarre. Posted by T.L. James on December 15, 2006 01:04 PM

Fascinating. More applicable for an unmanned vehicle since the ride looks awfully bumpy. Can you imagine a swarm of these things in a military role? Posted by: Brad at December 22, 2006 08:35 PM Whegs brought this old memory to mind... http://www.snowcrest.net/fox/landmaster/ ...do you remember the landmaster amphibious vehicle from the 1977 movie Damnation Alley? Bad movie, interesting vehicle. Posted by: Brad at December 24, 2006 08:45 PM |
